How to Setup Google Adsense

Kettik provides you with a free platform to earn revenue from your content through Google Adsense. The way it works is simple, you sign up as a publisher with Google Adsense and share your publisher code with us. We'll then use that code to generate ad's on the pages where your content is shown in full. Any advertising revenue generated on those pages will be directly credited to your affiliate account from Google. In order words you get 100% advertising revenue from all your 'single content' pages.

It is important to understand what a 'single content' page is. It is a webpage where a single post is shown in full. E.g your story page, journal page, photo page etc. Pages which show a list of items, like a home page, journal list page etc are classified as 'common' pages and the ad's shown on these pages belong to Kettik. However within your sub-domain we will share the ad space with you on the common pages. The first, most prominent ad will be displayed using your Google Adsense code and the other less prominent ad's will be shown using our code.

We believe that its a Win-Win situation for both Kettik and its contributors. More content created by our contributors means more visitors to the site which then benefits everyone involved. In order to start earning revenue from your content, you need to follow the below steps.

• If you already have an approved Adsense account, then great. You can setup your affiliate info immediately.


• Otherwise you need to sign up with Google for an Adsense account. Before you do that, we recommend that you first create as much content as possible and then apply for the adsense account by providing a link to you kettik sub-site.


• Once your Adsense account is approved, you need to create 3 Adunits to use with Kettik. Make sure that their sizes are 728x90 - Leaderboard, 300 x 250 - Medium Rectangle and 468 x 60 - Banner respectively. And their styling should match the overall light styling of Kettik (i.e white background, no borders and grey text). You can refer to the below snapshot while styling your ad unit.



• Once your Adunits are created, then you should enter their code 'as it is' without any modification into the appropriate form provided in the Adsense tab of your "Setup Affiliate" page.

Once your Google Adsense affiliate information is updated, you will then see 'your ad's' appearing on all the pages where your content is shown in full (a single story page, single photo page etc).
