Krabi Province

Krabi is one of the southern provinces of Thailand bordering the Andaman sea. Home to some beautiful beaches, the most striking feature of the Krabi province is the limestone krast formations that add variety to both the land and seascape of the islands. Naturally these limestone cliffs attract a lot of climbers from around the world.. most of the climbing activity happens at the Railay island.. a favorite among backpackers. Incidentally Krabi province is also perhaps the home of the earliest known settlement in Thailand, dating back to 25,000-30,000BC (most probably it was not called Krabi back then ;). Various archeological findings in the cliffs and caves around the province support the claim.
